Wysiwyg 3D on Channel 7 Showcasing 3D Scanning and 3D Printing

Usually our engineers are behind the camera 3d scanning the hero but today the hero was 3D scanning and 3D printing.

Channel 7 Crew and Reporter Adene Cassidy were interested in doing a story on 3D scanning and 3D Printing – and who best to show them what our amazing technology could do – Managing Director and Owner Shane Rolton of Wysiywg 3D – one of Australia’s longest operating scanning specialist companies.

3D Scanning using the handheld Artec Eva, scanning in colour can take as little as 5-10 minutes, from data capture the file is then processed ready for 3D Printing and must be water tight. This is incredibly important for 3D Printing and other manufacturing methods.

We used the 3D Systems Projet 660 for full colour 3D Prints.

Not only was the complete Mini-Me process was filmed but Shane got the chance to show some of the more unusual objects he had 3d scanned over the last 13 years.
