Obtaining volume calculations was the aim of the site visit which required 3D Laser Scanning a cliff face and adjacent area. The 3D Cad Model was then generated to calculate the volume of the material that had fallen from the cliff.
The fallen area was approximately 30m long and 15m high, the cliff and its adjacent area was 3D Laser Scanned and surveyed providing a set of data aligned to the site`s local coordinate system.
Back in the office the engineers at Wysiwyg 3D processed the data creating the volume of each individual rock as well as 10mm spacing cross-sections of the entire cliff.
