Bernie doesn’t just shake is a 4 day exhibition about people living with Parkinson’s disease (PD) that have re-invented themselves and as a result are benefiting from their positive attitude.
The It’s Not Funny team thought that it would be a great idea to make a dashboard wobbly doll as a good representation of a positive attitude living with the condition.
Bernie has Parkinson’s Disease but he doesn’t let the illness stand in the way of having a positive outlook on life. He had Deep Brain Stimulation, a treatment for the illness, and after that he discovered his love for painting. His paintings are very good for someone who has no formal training and can’t hold a brush.
WYSIWYG3D scanned and printed Bernie as a miniature dashboard wobbly doll. The 3D or Cyber Scanning technique was used to capture the person’s whole body. It only took about 10 minutes with the portable 3D scanner to capture all data and the scan was then used to print a high-resolution 3D model.
