Last week, Leanne and I headed to Brisbane for two days of education, networking and professional development. We were attending the Leica Futures Forum, supported by Leica and, of course, the great team at CR Kennedy. We thought it would be 60% social and 40% business, how wrong were we!

First up, download the App – Tick.
Then review the program – our first challenge: how can the two of us cover the maximum number of high-quality presentations? Lucky, the C.R.Kennedy team had arranged for a couple of repeat sessions, which meant we could split up and cover every session that would be beneficial to the Wysi 3D team.
Program
2 days
30+ sessions
10+ international speakers
12+ exhibitors
Our few days with Leica Future Forum
We hit the ground running, being greeted by what looked like 400 colleagues at the base of the escalator. It took 45 minutes to get to the registration desk, due to G’days, great to see you, and we need to chat later.
The sessions were really pointed topics, ones which expanded our thinking and proved that we never really stop learning. And not just from the presenters, we were surrounded by colleagues, not competitors, everyone willing to pipe up and offer a solution from their own experiences. An industry willing to support each other, to increase the size of the pie, rather than fight for their share!
Even after 27 years in this 3D reality capture industry, I found myself learning, being challenged, and coming away with tips, tricks, and even more software to purchase! ~Sorry Lea, that holiday may have to wait, – there’s a new awesome software that does ——–!~ That’s what happens when you go Xmas shopping – I mean, go to an information event!
Bellies full from coffee, cake, lunch, and afternoon tea. Our ribs sore from laughing, and our jaws sore from chit-chatting! Great friendships maintained, new ones kindled, and connections fostered across the seas.
We have so much to implement and more efficiencies to extract from our workflows.

Thank you Leica, for supporting your customers. Having spent the first 24 years of our career being exploited by your competitors, it is reassuring that you truly want to succeed together!
Thank you C.R.Kennedy, for all your support, phone calls, emails, tips and tricks. You put customers’ success first, which ensures your own!
Thank you to the Wysi 3D Team, who keep our clients happy whilst Lea and I attended this event. We are only as good as our staff. Looking after them so that they look after our clients is crucial!
And thanks, Spot the Dog – finally a “dog” that will do what I ask!
